Sunrise on the Rialto Bridge, Venice

The Rialto bridge was constructed between 1589-1591 and is the oldest bridge in Venice. It is modeled upon the design of the wooden bridge that was built on the same site in 1255. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Venice. I was lucky enough to walk over it at dawn when it was free of the tourist hordes. It is a most spectacular piece of architecture that spans the Grand Canal.
