A set of photos of the ancient Aqueduct of Santa Clara, in Vila do Conde

in #architecturalphotography6 years ago (edited)

Here are a few more photos of the old Roman-like Aqueduct, which is a main attraction of the city of Vila do Conde. I had already talked about it earlier, in this post.

The Spanish Edition of National Geographic considers this to be the 3rd most beautiful aqueduct of the World -- Los 10 acueductos más bellos del mundo -- and I hope these photos will show you why:

If you come to Portugal, please don't limit yourself to visit Algarve and Lisbon. We have a lot more to offer. The city of Vila do Conde is one of the most beautiful towns in the North of Portugal and you'd be an idiot to come here and not visit it... at least for one day.

Don't forget to bring your beach towel!

I see you are using the canon more! seems way better than the phone! so many good photos!
you should go there and take this photo again with slightly different framing...rotate to the right, cut the car and white house and include the more of the lamp on the right! cheers!

Thanks for the suggestion... but... hmm... to the left there's nothing but a very ugly building, an abandoned one. Not much to see there. That's why I cut it out.

As czar Guidon said - " it is necessary to visit this island(city)."
I read that the Roman Empire died because of the aqueducts. More like lead pipes.
How old is this building?

This is old but not that old. It's dated around the XVIII Century. Long gone were the Romans. And anyway, the Romans never conquered these parts of Europe. They've tried... and failed, ah ah ah! 😂😂😂

I thought the Romans built it.

Nice photography..
i love to travel..
i hope i can visit that place soon
Thank you for posting
God bless

I honestly don't know what Dreadpool is, so I can't fully understand what you're trying to say.
