A mansion in a hospital district

Every time I pass it by which is basically every Wednesday, I look at this cottage. Many people rent it now but perhaps it once was so big to accommodate staff working for the owners. It is on an artery which is far from ideal. The street needs the house but the house doesn’t need that street.
