can, and a little more calm and normalized the country "SUPPOSEDLY". Better times will come that I am more than convinced and I am a faithful believer, I can still help those who need water. Since here we have 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in case someone needs the vital liquid too soon. I'll be doing a story about Armando Reveron.

Who was Arturo Michelena? :

He was born on June 16, 1863 in the northern city of Valencia, son of Juan Antonio Michelena (1832 - 1918), also a painter, and Socorro Castillo (1869-1909). His first teachings are received from his aunt, Edelmira Michelena. A sculpture in the corridors of the National Art Museum, I found several with no author so I can not know to whom it belongs. In this opportunity several exhibitions were closed I was not 100% open, so I went and I visited observe as many works of art as I could and the creative, realistic that was for their time and they will see what they talked about only in this album they will talk about Arturo Michelena and Armando Reverón. Little by little they will be showing their great works very famous and recognized worldwide, I must thank the Industrial Bank for their donations. Without them, I would not have seen and enjoyed so many copies that were very significant for us Venezuelans.

He began painting at a very young age under the tutelage of his father, Juan Antonio Michelena. Highlight among his first creations: "Sleeping Cupid", "The rose" "Brayan Triana" and "In your arms", "Judit and Holofernes" and "A ray of light". In 1874 he made the drawings that illustrated the New York edition of "Venezuelan Customs", book by [Francisco de Sales Pérez], who takes great affection for the boy and, turned into his protector, presents him in the circle of friends of Antonio Guzmán Blanco with the intention of managing a student's pension. Later he receives lessons from a French lady, Constanza de Sauvage, disciple of the French painter Eugenio Deveria; she teaches him how to distribute colors better, to take better advantage of the light and prints some technical knowledge that she had acquired.

When I passed by here we were in the middle of January, that's why these December sculptures were. We are already in the middle of March woh spend the days flying, I'm going to meet years we will see what happens these days since. Nothing is known about what the future holds and here, planning what to do for this weekend, visit some places but without metro and without transportation I see it as very difficult. Only God knows where I am going or where I am going because he is the owner of my destiny, I would like to go to some places that I do not know but because of the area in which they are located, they must be closed, or the passage restricted until further notice but it will dawn and we'll see it.

Between 1879 and 1882, a period of apprenticeship took place during which Michelena, associated with his father, opened an Art Academy in Valencia to fulfill commissions for portraits. Mural paintings, copies of old paintings, children's portraits and abundant production of drawings are the training base that enable the young man to successfully attend the Centennial Hall of the Birth of El Libertador Simón Bolívar, which is celebrated in Caracas, and to which he sends his first important canvas "The delivery of the flag to the battalion without a name" (1883), which is awarded the Second Prize.

Here at the entrance to the museum as I have said on other occasions, this place is great to come with some models and make very good pictures. I have some foreign friends who would love to make a photographic picture here since they are dancers and I know the defects in the corridors like this place, doing their choreography but they do not live here I also know that they would help much more to the project in which I am. I'm waiting a little longer for the project to be more recognized, to bring me to the platform to a trip of artists and dancers. That they will help much more to the growth of this one but also that, they are recognized by their work although in the outer world they are already well known.

His first great success was in Paris at Le Salon des Artistes Français in 1887. Encouraged by his teacher Jean-Paul Laurens, Michelena presented a canvas entitled L'Enfant Malade (the sick child) with which he was awarded the Gold Medal , second of its kind, the greatest honor that academy had given to a foreign artist. The painting was quickly considered a piece of art and was acquired by Astors, in New York, at the end of the 19th century. In 2004, Sotheby's sold the art piece for $ 1,350,000, a record for a Latin American work of art.
