Retrospective...
Hallo Steemians, in part #2 of my small series about the art- and wonderful Vienna, I wrote mainly about the arthistorical museum and then made a stroll through the first district. This part continues here. The night is coming and I am still in the first district with all it's beautiful buildings...

MUSEUMSQUARTIER / MUSEUMS QUARTER
Rückblick...
Nach meinem letzten Schnappschuss ging ich heim. Ich wollte am nächsten Tag einiges unternehmen und hatte einen Besuch im Museumsquartier geplant. Das Museumsquartier - auch genannt MQ - befindet sich im 7. Bezirk und bietet eine reiche Palette an verschiedenen Kunstformen wie Theater, Architektur, bildende Kunst, etc. -- Der Haupteingang, also das älteste Gebäude des MQ sind die ehemaligen Hofstallungen, die später umfunktioniert wurden. 1921 wurde das Areal für Messen benutzt und erst Jahre später zu einem Kulturforum umgewidmet. Heute befinden sich dort wichtige Museen wie das Museum für Moderen Kunst (MUMOK) oder das Leopold Museum. Im Folgenden möchte ich einige Impressionen von meinem Besuch im Leopold Museum mit euch teilen...
Retrospective...
After my last shot I went home. The next day I wanted to do quite a lot and I had planned to visit the museums quarter. The museums quarter - also called MQ - is in the 7. district and it offers a rich palette of different art forms like theatre, architecture, fine art, etc. -- the main entrance, the oldest building of the MQ, are the former royal stables, which got a new funtion. 1921 the whole area got a usecase for conventions and years later it became a cultural forum. Today we can find important museums there like the museum of conemtemporary art (MUMOK) or the Leopold museum. das Leopold Museum
DasLeopold Museum ist eigentlich recht jung. Es öffnete im Jahr 2001 und beinhaltet hauptsächlich die Sammlung der Familie Leopold. Rudolf Leopold war ein Augenarzt und Kunstsammler, der viele Gemälde wichtiger Künstler kaufte wie z.B. von Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt, usw. Das Museum veranstaltet auch immer wieder Sonderausstellungen - als ich dort war, befanden sich dort Werke von Gerhard RICHTER. Lasst uns etwas eintauchen :-)
the Leopold museum
The Leopold Museum is actually pretty young. It was opened in 2001 and contains mostly the collection of the family Leopold. Rudolf Leopold was an eye doctor and art collector, who bought lots of paintings of important artist like f.ex. Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt, and so on. The museum also does special exhibitions - when I was there, they showed works of Gerhard RICHTER. Let's dive into it :-)

Alles in allem kann ich sagen, das Museum ist definitv einen Besuch wert und jeder Kunstliebhaber wird dort wirklich seine Freude haben. Man kann Stunden lang darin verbringen und sieht unglaublich viele tolle Stücke. Das war es für Teil #3 - DANKE fürs Vorbeischauen. Alles Beste, Martin
WORTH A VISIT!
All in all I can say, the museum is definitely worth a visit and every art lover will have his fun there. You can stroll around for hours and you will see an amazingly big variety of artefacts! That was it for part #3 - THANKS for tuning in. All the best, Martin
