Painting from life in Paris
Dear Steemit family,
I am in Paris now practicing alla prima painting with Nick Alm in Paris Academy of Art. It is a great privelege to learn from such a master and to paint alongside with nice and talented people. This is my first portrait here, sorry no steps today but I will make some photos for the next paintings. It is done wet-on-wet in Zorn pallete, 3 hours, the size is 12x16 inches.

So much fun to see this work. So well done!
I wonder if you've made paintings that weren't pleasing. "Every poem is a battle against style." That was (is) my own mantra, reminding me not to repeat my last success, but to be true to the new subject. I'm not writing much anymore, but I think the intention applies in other media (for me, at least).
I go on about this, sorry. I have trouble getting small, and I have to be small to do anything new.
