Solar Culture Gallery
Let me introduce you into a true gem in the art world - Solar Culture Gallery, in Tucson, Arizona.
Solar Culture is a community gallery/music venue/studio space, non-profit organization, with a 31 year history of serving the Tucson community.
We do three invitational art shows a year, where we invite the public to share their creations. We usually have over 100 people showing work on our walls. Our strategy is to unite people's Art for the intention of balancing out destructive energy on the planet with beauty and culture. Everybody is welcome to share their heart creations, there is no jury, and it is free to show your work.
This place in the heart of downtown, right next to railway tracks, feels like we are on the crossroads, and the veil is very thin here. Constant flow of the art, music and community runs through here.

This is like a star incubator, with the wild history, a lot of artists had their beginnings here. I am feeling very blessed to be amongst them. I am getting here a very good training on many levels;)
Because of my experience here I ended up running my own venue in the recent years. Definitely it's the path of an accelerated growth to reflect in community/humanity, and to be in service.
Steven Eye is founder of this place. He is a community leader, sculptor, music promoter, and he calls himself a community architect. He holds the space for the arts community, also through renting many of the art studios.
Here is some of his work:

For 18 years queen Phoolan rulled this kingdom. She really loved music, and probably she experienced more concerts in her life than any other cat, and most of the people.
Above: work by Salvador Duran that also has a studio here.
Below: this golden gateway was sculpted out of plaster by Steven Eye.
Piece below it's our art installation GoddessCraft, that we collaborated on for Burning Man.
Solar Culture it is the ancient Atlantean tradition of bringing the light down to a pineal gland.
Check it out sometime if it's in your flow! There is a lot to explore, and it's not the only venue;)
If by chance you are local, or you know someone living here that makes art - tonight at midnight is the deadline of submissions for the new art show called "Paradigm Shift".
Art show opening reception is this Saturday 6-9pm.
Looks like a really neat place! Thank you for the great reportage.
