Illness: between fire and ice
It burns, my head burns. Pain pinches my eyes, my mind, my will.
Each activity adds more and more fuel to the fire. Pain feeds on both, the bad and the good. It grows, how it weighs!, it invades me, it crushes me, how it crushes me!
So, is cold a choice? Yes, it is, to "survive"...
So, I freeze. Everything calms down. The blood slows down, finally!, and the pain recedes.
But I also withdraw and go away, I get numb, kidnapped in a white limbo; neither my arms nor my gaze embrace any dear horizon. In that way, I lose myself and I lose anything. Their hugs neither look for me nor find me.
They burn, fire and ice. The dark marks remain, and the emptiness.
Where can reach who doesn't move?
La enfermedad: entre el fuego y el hielo
Arde, arde mi cabeza. El dolor atenaza mis ojos, mi mente, mi voluntad.
Cada actividad echa más y más leña al fuego. El dolor se alimenta tanto de lo malo como de lo bueno. Crece, ¡cómo pesa!, me invade, me aplasta, me tritura.
Entonces, ¿es el frío una elección? Lo es, para "sobrevivir"...
Así, me hielo. Todo se calma. ¡La sangre baja la velocidad, finalmente!, y el dolor se aleja.
Pero también yo lo hago, me entumezco, secuestrada en un limbo blanco; ni mis brazos ni mi mirada abarcan ningún querido horizonte. De esa manera, me pierdo. Tampoco me buscan o encuentran sus abrazos.
Queman, el fuego y el hielo. Quedan las oscuras marcas, y el vacío.
¿A dónde puede llegar quien no se mueve?
