I went on a tour of the Northern U.K
Stopping at places of interest on the way.
One day I came to an historic church
And decided to stop and it’s graveyard to search
Walking around the cemetery alone
I came across an unusual tomb stone
And studied with intent and enraption
Staring aghast, at the ancient caption;
“FELL ASLEEP”? I ask you now,
Should we reflect on just how
It could be proper to bury a gent
Just because he is somnolent!
Yes importuning you now to please think deep
If it’s fair to be burying those falling asleep
Surely custom dictates awaiting their demise
Before turning them over to the funeral guys
There must be more cases of DOZERS put underground
Just because they were tired, but otherwise sound
Unless one’s a corpse don’t commit them to earth
For they have a course to run since their birth
Taking care not to repeat
Laying a SNOOZER under your feet.
