THE ROAD HOG

A road hog is described as a reckless driver,
Could be going too fast, or too slow, yes, either.
Either going slowly in a passing lane,
Or sitting on your tail like a rampageous train,
In fact doing the exact opposite of traffic laws,
The Road Hog is the epitome of those frightful bores,
That unfortunately assail us on the road every day.
Always impatiently “me-firsting” those in the way.

Algernon Broccowitz was a road hog of distinction.
He’d happily hound any other driver to extinction.
He was exaggeratedly aggressive out on the road,
Whilst out of his car, he was a timid little toad.
One day he was driving in his usual style,
Aggravating others for mile after mile,
When suddenly he heard the siren of a fire truck.
He refused to exit the passing lane. The truck out of luck.
The captain of the fire truck put the siren on extra loud.
Algernon hogged the passing lane, even in a crowd.
The reverberating siren, now on a higher pitch,
Caused Algernon to swerve, landing in a ditch.
Like a cocktail, Algernon was shaken and not stirred.
Fortunately no one else could hear his angry word.
He simply never could admit that he was a road hog.
Onto his nose, through the open window, jumped a little frog.
