Marty Monocle was there, singing a song,
Afterwards, he was still there, lingering along.
His attitude on the matter was so emphatic,
What matter was this? Quite enigmatic.
It was whether a boiled egg should be open,
At the pointy, or smooth end, we are hoping.
That such a conundrum has a ready answer,
Vexing it may be, requiring a thought enhancer.
A stimulus to arrive at a correct solution,
Remembering that this is vital thought pollution,
Risked serious conflict for Lilliputians
War, in fact, that most harsh of institutions,
As recorded for us in Swift’s “Gulliver's Travels”.
Alarm increasing as that story unravels.

Of course, the very notion of going to war,
Over such a stupid matter, we never before saw!
The matter is foolish, beyond belief,
Could only lead to misery and grief!
To avoid such misguided behaviour erratic,
Best to remain in a happy mood, yes, ecstatic.
But, happy as to what? You may well ask,
The answer to this doesn’t come in a flask.
No. No flask of Rum, Whisky or Gin,
Will make you ecstatic, put on a grin.
So, remain calm and collected, and carry right on.
Disputes over boiled egg openings are just a big con!

Marty Monocle thought long and hard,
As to just where to plant vegetables in his small yard.
He’d need some sunlight, to make it just right.
And mitigating positioning to avoid frosts at night.
Consideration as to regrettable type,
And seasonal planning, yes, all that hype!
“I would have a chicken run, too,” said he.
“But that could cause problems exponentially.”
“For, if I have chickens, I’ll also have eggs.”
“Raising the prospect of conflicting thought dregs.”
“As to which end of a boiled egg it is correct,”
“To tap with a teaspoon when to eat you select!”
