Real Life Dragon Lore AWP from CS:GO (Painted Airsoft Gun)
A while ago my friend and I where making a CS:GO video machinima-style. Skins being the big part of the game, we decided to elaborate on that and ordered local aerography paint shop to make these. And so an airsoft replica was purchased.
Airsoft is basically toy-ish gun that shoots plastic 6mm balls with either string, electric or CO2 mechanism and is used in sport games or historic restorations.
So I personally had no idea how it would turn out but the result exceeded my wildest expectations. As so I though I would share it here as well as my first Steemit post \o/
Drawings are very detailed because they all are hand-painted.
Of course there is a big difference comparing to the original (in-game texture is pretty low-res to be honest), but I think authors (painters?) own artistic rendition only adds to it.
The process is pretty standard yet "a bit" tedious. Do not (probably) try this at home.
At first, we disassemble
Sand-paper and then apply paint in layers
Draw these beautiful Fire-breathing Asian dragons by hand with the smallest brush
Final polishing touches with varnish
Assemble and voila!
