Forge of Neon - 3D Sandbox Art Review
Hi all,
Full disclosure, I already wrote a draft for this post which I completely tossed away but it was useful to make the video review that you can find here. I am in new territory, trying to become a critique of the complex ecosystem of mobile apps. You can download Forge of Neon for fee on the app store or the Google Play Store.
Let’s start with the pros!
- It’s really fun
- You can use it for special effects in your videos or with music
- It is intuitive and easy to use
- It is hypnotic
- it records the speed of you pencil stroke which affects the pulsating displays
- There are many types of designs determined by a number of presets
- The rotating camera influences your design
- It calls on the aesthetics of symmetry which is universal and somewhat fractal
- The only paying feature is to remove the adds so they are generous with their export feature
The Cons
- There is no help button
- there are 2 menues and they are confusing
- You should be able to tap outside the menue to get back into the app
- The colors glow to much and there should be a gradient options
- There are constant adds
- The brushes are cheesy and you mostly can’t tell them apart
- It may give you a headache if you play too long
The lesson of the day is to keep it simple and easily digestible. What I wrote before proved useful but it is important to keep your followers in mind regarding how they will appreciate your efforts the most.
It is a fine line between self-critical and second guessing, if blogging was easy, everyone would do it!
Steemit Dreamit is on Facebook and Discord!

I totes need to try this!
oh wow this does look interesting.
and i tried it! kinda reminds me of particle effects in unity.
maybe you could've put your video and the app video together, just to let people see what you're reviewing.
but thanks for sharing this is cool :)
Thanks a bunch, still trying to figure out how to do that but you’re right, I may loose people before I get to the examples. I’m downloading Apower REC right now ;)
No need for an external app on IPad Pro, you just need to enable mic by pressing and holding the button here displayed. It allows my Apogee mic + too!
The control center is to the right of all the open apps you see when you bottom swipe for IOS 11.
