MILLENNIUM FALCON illustrated

in #art5 years ago

The universe of Star Wars is full of phenomenal spaceships and amazing extraterrestrial, and that the brilliant minds of George Lucas and Ralph McQuarrie managed to make one of the most creative stories in the history of cinema. For this occasion I present one of the most emblematic ships of the saga, the highly recognized Millennium Falcon.

For this occasion I decided to make a two-dimensional drawing, very simple for the complex that is the ship in the film, later I will leave pictures of it. In its design I did not intend to make an exact replica of the Falcon, I used lines and simple shapes to give it a geometric touch but not as minimalist as I originally thought to do.

Here I bring you a few photos of the process and several shots of different angles of the final result; It is my first presentation of an illustration, probably it seems something simple, but I put a lot of effort so that it would be pleasing to your sight. With the use of graphite pencils of different types (some more intense than others), a black crayon and markers of different colors I got the final result.

The FALCON

This is one of the most legendary ships in history because it was the one that took the heroes from one place to another in the first movie of Star Wars, it can be said that it was the ship of the "good guys". The owner and pilot of the ship was the smuggler Han Solo, who piloted with his faithful friend CHEWBACCA, or as he called Chewie, a charming wookie. Since that first episode the ship has been accompanying the Rebel Alliance and recently known as The Resistance, now commanded by Chewbacca and Rey.

Note that this year 2018 premiered one of the movies that was (in theory) the history line of the main saga of Star Wars, is a film focused on the origin of the character Han Solo, which together with Rogue One is part of the expansion project of the Star Wars Universe that Disney plans. In this film we know the original Millennium Falcon, with a much more modern look than the one we saw in episode IV for the first time, this because the film is set some years before the development of the history of episode IV and then during the film development SOLO, undergoes some changes; The main notable change that can be seen in the ship is the change of color and its tip, which had not before two prominences, but had a single solid piece.

In addition to this, the ship was not in possession of Solo, it was owned by a mobster and gambler named Lando Calrissian, who may also be involved in the history of episodes V and VI. Han through some deals, gambling and some traps manages to take away from Lando the cherished ship ... and so from that moment Han Solo gave much to talk about in these stories of a galaxy far, far away.
