Sasamón: a door to the stars

Perhaps it is opportune, on the eve of the proximity of the most magical night of the year - that which determines the summer solstice and in which Jano, the two-faced god, liberates, through the Jauna Coeli, a whole varied range of spooky delicacies that for generations have formed a more or less active and essential part of the great myths of the collective memory of the peoples- to take hold of the memories and looking back, towards those infinite Castilian llanadas, to make the imagination, dear reader , I transport you, from wherever you are sitting comfortably in front of your computer screen, to a place whose name, Sasamón, should already give you a warning - whether or not a person given to let you be dazzled, or at least influenced by the fatal appeal of the mythology - subtly taking you to that curious world of aphorisms of an extrapeninsular nature, which are part of those protohistoric roots to which, generally, the historiogr official affair prefers to avoid, fearful, doubtless, to accept conclusions that may shake the golden foundations of a History that is shown more and more surprising each time new discoveries are made.

On the other hand, and despite the fact that the deterioration caused by time or by the indiscriminate action of some men who probably used both the church and the uninhabited quarry -some remains, today make up the magnificent church of Sasamón, which occupies a pre-eminent place in the town square, next to the street of the Knights - it is possible that, if you have occasion to walk through the countryside located outside of this town, not far from the cemetery and the stone cruises that I recommend you observe with Attention, you will see that, although you find it difficult to guess the original message of some capitals that every day seem to degrade and fuse a little more, like the wax of the candles on the night of the dead, you may discover, not what could probably have been a descent and a psychostasis as the most relevant elements among the typical foliaceous references and facing lions so characteristic of the Romanesque style, but At least you can clearly see two marks of stonework, which will make you think that, after all, chance may not exist and, as one admired Master and friend said: when the river of tradition sounds, it is that water historical takes: the eight-pointed star and the leg of goose.

Hoy por aquí te aseguro que quien ha entrado ha sido San Lorenzo, tanto urgencias dentro como urgencias fuera, el calor ha sido realmente abrasador. Seguro que en breve lo tienes por allí. Feliz sábado

Qué impresionante, parece un portal hacia otro mundo de esos que se abren bajo ciertas condiciones astronómicas... o ante algún arcano ritual. Me imagino un tentáculo gigantesco bajo una ominosa iluminación tratando de salir por ahí en en la noche del próximo solsticio.

En efecto: siempre ha sido un portal hacia otro mundo. Ahora, visto tal cual, es un portal a las estrellas y a la imaginación. En los siglos XII-XIII, cuando supuestamente la levantaron los templarios, fue un portal hacia un lugar sagrado, con misterio y situada en un punto muy particular, donde antes hubo una gran profusión de cultos precristianos. Lástima que la barbarie y la estupidez de los hombres nos hayan privado de una verdadera joya. Saludos y feliz solsticio
