Major Arcana - Drapes of Cynosure | card № 18 The Moon
Note: the allusion to the Goddess Hekate, is my personal interpretation, no reference has been found in my research which leads to the Goddess.
HEKATE (Hecate) was the goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts and necromancy. She was the only child of the Titanes Perses and Asteria from whom she received her power over heaven, earth, and sea. ... In statuary Hekate was often depicted in triple form as a goddess of crossroads.
Here The Tower (XVI) appears on the landscape of no man.
One of the towers is open to the sky while the other, is a fully restored fortified home, they/it, represent slow but steady and effective progress.
In the background a turbulent spiraling sky flows out or draws into The Moon, the sky and the lake are concomitant in their state of agitation, they both represent a grievously troubled soul.
The state of agitation is alleviated slightly on the two howling wolves, they represent, again, opposite forces. They are the guardians of the souls in the spirit world, and hounds to the Goddess Hekate; embodied in The Moon.
The Goddess instead, appears placid and serene, her eye towards The Star (XVII) finding reassurance and hope. In exchange, The Moon offers guidance by reflecting off the light and the strength from The Sun (XIX).
It is the right combination to rebuild The Tower, to restore a bruised Ego.
