---- Video Game Build in Unity - Asset building - Checkas the Cat ----
Well i have been hard at work trying to create my first video game and all the assets i need to make it happen. while many of those assets are static background elements they have provided quite a bit of challenge as far as learning the programs themselves and the capabilities as well as their limitations. it has been a fun journey so far and im learning quite a bit as far as digital art goes.
So anyways, i though it was time to show a little bit of what it is im actually doing on this project, i spent the past 2-3 days designing Checkas the Cat so she can exist in my gaming universe ;) Fortunately she comes round a bit and while she is a little camera shy, she will sometimes position herself perfectly for some good shots (see pic below)
The shot above was taken while i was working on the art itself in Photoshop, once the art was created i needed to make what is refereed to as an "exploded version", this is all the elements which will have independent movement separated from one another so that they can be "rigged" for movement. The image below shows the "complete artwork" as the main larger image AND a portion of the "individual elements" which were sliced from the original artwork. These individual elements will be used to crate an animation which will give the asset a bit of life.
I have provided a pic of the "real" Checkas the cat ,so yall can see what im trying to get going in the game. While im no accomplished artist... im a little artsy and i think that it will do quite well for my first game :)
Im now in the process of rigging up Checkas the Cat so we should have some movement real soon.... but i have a few things to figure out to get it looking the way i want it to.... So what do you guys think ? let me know in the comments

What kind of game is it going to be? How does the cat fit in? Is it going to be 2D? (I'm guessing by the cat that is a yes)
yeah it will be a 2D platformer style game, its my first one ever so im trying not to be too ambitious with what im trying to achieve on my first attempt. Just trying to make something that is functional and works as intended.... but not too complex.
Afer i try my hand at a few more games and have a hang of what i am capable of in Unity, and associated programs used to create games, i will begin my "masterpiece", which i will be a psychological thriller me thinks ;)

Cats who are used to live inside are always scared of the unknown outside. They dont trust strangers and freak out even when the door bell rings. She is lucky to find you and have a good life. Even with that evil look, she is a very pretty Kitty :D
It took too long for you to build that friendship. I usually do it in 3 or 4 days lol I guess I became a cats professional hhh I bribe them with good food and homemade cat's toys :D
Checkas is a professional hard working Kitty and loves video games as well :D
