Character Concepts WIP Stuff
So switching gears a bit I'm starting on some of the character work from my concept art development project. These are some sketches of the female lead character. To catch up on the narrative check out the link above.
This is definitely not the final design, just the first sketches of her face and some costume iterations, still going to do a lot more before I settle on something, but this is today's progress. As a bonus, here's a wip sculpt concept of the aliens.
Main thing with this guy is he needs to look like an alien and he needs to look sinister, everything else is details. Once I have a bit more to show, I'll talk more about some of the choices I'm making. Hope you're digging it so far! Let me know what you think in the comments! As always thanks for looking peeps!
pretty interesting. AS a suggestion, I would try changing the shape of the cranium. Right now I think it makes him look too ...relateable, like thats the one thing we all have in common
Yea, I could see that, it's actually long in the back, but you can't see it from this angle, but yea I think you're right. Since they're going to be doing some human things in the story, training the main characters, running experiments, I did want them to be somewhat relatable, but I was planning on doing that by just giving them human-like eyes, that's probably enough.
Her outfit looks neat and functional :D Would like to get to know her better !
And mr alien seems scary ; __ ; but also can be scarier :D right now he is at the i am quite stern type of scary. like a concerned headmaster that frowns at your herbology homework...

Thanks @veryspider! :) I haven't thought up a name for her yet, I'm thinking they'll have ID numbers as names. Like 4638856326 or something, maybe keeping it to names that sometimes people actually use though like Seven. Her and her "brother"(they think they're related because they're the only two humans) have the most advanced psychic powers of all the subjects. Hers is extremely powerful but she lacks control and the other protagonist is the other way around, lots of precision, but not very powerful.
You're actually a bit spot on with the alien though, they aren't really jailers or seen as overly oppressive, more like stern teachers. The subjects are basically brainwashed since birth to think they're developing these psychic powers for some great cause I haven't thought up yet, but in reality its so they can choose a planet to invade and enslave. Once our two main characters find this secret out it's what sparks the adventure. Thanks for the feedback! :D
