Hyperrealistic portrait of an African mother (2019)
Hello people, it's been a while, no thanks to a streak of migraines and inability to access my phone. Well, I'm back now feeling great and stronger than ever!
Today I'll be sharing a commissioned portrait of this wonderful mother of a friend which I finished recently. I did some of it through sickness, poured my heart and soul into this one for several days. It was all worth it in the end though and I found it hard to part ways with it.

All those pores, tiny wrinkles and that small scar on her forehead.. amazing detail! And look at that contagious smile! It does look better than a photograph. It's so realistic. I love her traditional head decoration. Her dress is also very nice.

I'm always amazed by how artist work. Some of them are drawing a sketch first and then they are starting to work on the details. I've seen many drawing artist who work just like you, I mean you did her hat first then you draw the rest. it's interesting.
