Great Show Last Night.

Last night was our monthly improv show, Belleville-Ville. A small town dramedy long-form improv set in the year 1980. The theme last night was relationships, and taxes. Taxes didn't take much of the attention. It was a small plot line that ended up entirely dropped before half-way.

All of us had a game we were playing, which made the show great. My character's game is to try to win the affections of my character's brother (played by Mikey, my real-life partner). My game for the day was to pay everybody with birds.

Buffy (me) met with Sam Lawny behind the dumpster at the Second Cummings bar and pawn shop in town. Buffy wanted to get help from Sam to win her brother's heart. In exchange, she would catch him one bird every day. She already had a seagull ready in her vest, and then caught him a falcon onstage, which he named and released.

All of the mail in town had been delivered to the wrong addresses by the only postal worker, Skip, who thought it would be a great social mixer idea to do so. He ended up being thrown in the river with all the mail.

After confronting Buddy, with the help of Mallard and his romantic whisperings, Buffy gave him a Cassowary, a very large bird known for killing an average of two Australians per year. And so Buddy was killed.

Buck had already settled a fundraiser event booking with Buddy, and so came to Buffy to settle the balance owed. She gave him one penguin and sent him on his way.

The fundraiser ended up being not so much of a fundraiser as it was Buffy spinning clay in a cotton candy machine asking for help to spin it, only to be turned down by every surviving person in the town. The game was to get Buddy's ghost to do a Swayze and help Buffy spin the clay. Everyone else made it their game to avoid it. In the end, it turned into a bird monster, resembling Pritty Feeler (whose game this show was that everyone thought he looked like a monster).

I've had a good few months of performances. I'm very pleased. Can't wait to keep improving at improv. It's definitely top three in most fun of my non-lucrative exploits.
