"Patches - The Adventure Pinata" by Richard F. Yates

Patches - The Adventure Pinata - found himself shrunken to microscopic size, one day, and transported into a human neural network, where he was confronted by a very grumpy BAD IDEA. Being mostly an empty shell made of colorful paper---with very little brain---patches considered the position that the Bad Idea represented for several minutes before deciding that he was more confused than convinced, and because he had very little brain, there was no place in Patches' skull for the Bad Idea to stick!

The next morning when Patches awoke (in his own bedroom and once again full size), he tried to think back on his neurological adventure but quickly discovered that his head was empty---no memory of the Bad Idea (or anything else that happened to him) remained---so he got cheerfully out of bed, ate some cereal, and hopped into the shower, where he quickly became waterlogged (being mostly made of colorful paper), disintegrated, and slid down the tub drain...and BAM! He was off on another adventure! Patches sure knows how to have a good time!
