Another blast from the past! Well I wanted to post a new digital painting I have been working on for a week but saw some parts I had to fix first and didn't have time for that and was too tired...
So I decided to show something from the past. I called it "SociEYEty" and made it with charcoal on A3 sized paper in 2008.
It's about anxiety and the feeling of being watched. The eyes of society/people looking at you judging you and the anxiety that it creates is holding you back. It's all in your mind as you can never know what people think. Anxiety is a demon controlling every aspect in your life if you don't go against it and makes you blind for reality.
I posted the artwork below earlier this year when I just started here. But I wanted to add it to this post as it was made right after this one. Also made with charcoal. it's called "Sympathy".
Haven't used charcoal for a very long time but maybe should try it again as you can create something expressive very fast. Made more charcoal artworks in the past and hope to show them soon.

A wonderful art with a theme that most of us can relate to. As you said, it's mostly in our heads but we keep thinking that other people are continuously watching and judging us.
This one feels more expressive than your usual arts, Sander. It's probably due to the roughness and darkness of your pencil works.

This one has a lot of energy in it, Sander. A lot of force ! I can feel you channeling your inner emotions out with the charcoal ! A striking piece, to be sure, and very expressive. Same with the Sympathy one ... you have a way to capture these formless emotions we have swimming inside of us :) Wonderful works <3
