Inktober #11: cruel - I'm so cruel!

in #art6 years ago (edited)

At first, happy Thursday to you all! Today is the eleventh day of the inktober challenge (you can read more about it here) and the word for today is "CRUEL".

Before to start to sketch something, I needed to have an idea about what I could draw, but it was not simple because I wake up in a very good mood and so I couldn't think about something cruel! "Cruel" is not the right word to stay in a happy mood, isn't it?

Well, thinking about it, a face (a cruel face) came into my mind: the face of Pennywise!

You have to know that, since I was a young girl, I'm a little obsessed by horror movies and by the Stephen King's books, It is one of my favorites. The first time I watched it (IT ^_^), I was really impressed by the story  that was from the childhood to the adult age of that Loser's Club. I like the book, but I like also the movie inspired by it (IT, again ^_^).

Sure, I'm talking about the first (and, for me, the only one ^_^) movie with the great Tim Curry, absolutely my favorite!

For the sketch I chose the face of the new Pennywise (played by Bill Skarsgård) just because the pics about it are more simple to draw ^_^

There's a face more cruel than the face of Pennywise? I think not ;)

As usual, I took a couple of pics of the process too:

It's almost time for Halloween, maybe the Pennywise could become a perfect decoration for it ^_^

See ya soon and happy Inktober!

I felt exactly the same! didn't feel much like drawing something cruel on this nice sunny day! so I ended up with a snake though, I actually quite like snakes.. :) So that was a compromise XD

It sounds like a good compromise :D

This is the second clown I've seen for the word "Cruel" they definitely do not have a good reputation.

It's funny once they were considered endearing and children's toys and wallpapers and everything were plastered with them in the 1950's, I wonder when the turn happened? Maybe in Poltergeist with the clown under the bed, that always scared me when I was tiny.

The clown in Poltergeist scared me too! ^^ I have to say that I'm not really scared by the clowns when I see them in Circus, but there were a lot of movies and books too where they are cruel characters. I don't know why, maybe because they always "wear" a sort of mask and so they can represent the fear of the unknown things. ^^
