The Big Draw Festival!

in #art6 years ago (edited)

Yesterday was a very busy day for me and my husbad, but it was also a very nice Saturday! You have to know that, in the local library, there was an event of the Big Draw Festival (you can read more information about it here) and me and Paolo (with another local artist) were the teachers in a drawing lab!

Here in Italy more events for the festival coming around and the italian partner of the events is the Fabriano, an italian company that makes excellent paper for drawings, so we received many wonderful sheets of paper from it  and also the marketing materials (stickers, balloons, etc). The event in my city (Pistoia, Italy) was organized by the library and so we decided to do a couple of group to help people to draw something. One group was for children from 8 to 12 years old, the other group was for adults. When the library called me to be one of the teachers for the lab, the idea was to have 3 local women artist: me, Rossella and Cristina. Unfortunately, yesterday morning Rossella was too sick to to be there and so they asket to Paolo if he could be there to help us. Paolo has a large experience to teach art to adults, so he said "Yes". Cristina was the main teacher for the children group, Paolo was the main teacher for the adult group and me, who I have less experience in art than the others, I was an helper for both of them ^_^

I had so much fun to be there and we spent 3 hours enjoying colors ad smiles! There were some families and it was sweet to see ho they worked together for all the time. Children created some pop-up cards with their favorite subject, some nice kitties, a vampire in his castle, a blue sea and everything their imagination wanted to explore!

Many different hands worked on the tables! Little artists and adult artists all together, exchanging in harmony the pencils, the watercolors, the erasers and some tips too. Art can be a nice way to stay connected each other and also to spend beautiful moments in the family!

In the past I did some craft labs in our local library, but an art lab is really something special if you think about it like a moment to spend having fun ^_^

I took a lot of pics of the artworks made by children, but just few pics of the drawings did by adults, I think it was because I was really intrigued by the imagination of the children :D

Just a curiosity: the woman in the following pic is drawing a pic from Krakow!!!! ^_^

Well, at the end of the day we was really tired, because there were 10 children and 14 adults in the lab and so we had to help many different people to draw. Tired, but satisfied, because it was really a grat experience ^_^

See ya soon and steem on!
