Diorama Art from National Monuments

in #art6 years ago (edited)

HI EVERYONE!

Documentation is one way to perpetuate something to be viewed again whenever we want to see it.

The art of documenting something can be in various forms.

Advanced technology has enabled people to document their history in beautiful forms. Not just photographs, but it can be sculptures, candles and paintings.

What I want to show you is one of the historical style of documentation created in diorama form. Small sculptures have been made according to the memories and images of the past.

I have visited the National Monument in Jakarta, and under the monument there is a history museum, which explains the beginning and struggle for Indonesian independence.

I will explain to you some dioramas that I have seen, not all of them, but almost all the important ones I have photographed.

Here are some of the collections:

ACEH'S WAR, 1873 - 1904

This diorama is made to commemorate the history of Aceh who once rejected the demands of the Dutch. Aceh demanded that the Netherlands stop the relationship with other countries.

The first Dutch attack at that time had failed. Even their commander, Kohler, was killed by the Acehnese attack in battle which they performed in front of Baiturrahman Great Mosque - Banda Aceh.

MAKASSAR'S WAR

The war between Makassar and the Netherlands. On August 8-9, 1668, Sultan Hasanuddin became a leader in the battle to defend the Sumbaopu stronghold of the Dutch army incursions.

AFRICA ASIA CONFERENCE, 18 - 24 APRIL 1955

There has been a cold war. Between the Western Bloc and the Eastern Bloc, it occurred after the end of the second world war, which could at times enlarge into nuclear war.

The 30 Asian-African countries are aware of this danger, they finally hold a conference. The conference finally resulted in the resolution of Dasasila Bandung.

Asia-Africa has finally become a new power, it has become a mediator for a war between the Western Bloc and the Eastern Bloc.

ANCIENT INDONESIAN SOCIETY

A cultural heritage spread throughout Indonesia, it tells of the age of megalithic, a society that lives orderly.

Evidence has been found in Busiki, Pasemah, Cabenge and Gilimanuk. It developed between 2000 BC to 500 BC.

  • For now, I'm telling you 5 diorama images. It is all about the history of the Indonesian state, and Aceh becomes special because of its greater service to Indonesia.

  • All the explanations about the diorama are placed directly in front of each diorama, everyone can read it, and I have recorded most of it. Hope you all love it.
