What do you consider as illegal art? What about painting? What do you consider as 'public art'? Why do you go to such lengths to protect it from a certain percentage of the world that views you with suspicion and disdain? To some extent, the concept of 'art' is becoming a way to measure societal 'progress'. People say that if they could paint something, they would go ahead and do so, but I think a very interesting concept is that if you were born with the ability, why not share your ability with other people. If there's no need for you to be perfect, then don't be afraid to share your own talents with those that want to benefit from them. We all love art, but we can live our lives without it.

What is illegal art? We are not talking about the stuff that people use for religious ceremonies, like candles, candles of your neighbors, candles of the president or others, but illegal art which does not follow any legal rules. These laws vary according to the nationality of the artist and even on how the art is supposed to be made. A couple years ago we had to take down something, as it was illegal because it was considered art, as it was against the law in Germany, but a couple of months later it came back. Even if someone has an agreement that they would follow the law (for example a sign saying, "Art must be made without a tax stamp"), that is now very common. A lot of these people are the ones who go out partying and use illegal drugs, and they have an argument about what is art or not. In this case, the sign was not even put there for artistic reasons but because they thought it was OK. If you do not agree with them, you should ask them (and have them sign something if you have to), and in an ideal world everything would be fine but it is not.

What is disruptive art? "Disturbance" comes from the Latin word "disturbō" which means to break or disturb. What might "distressing" be? This could refer to what is currently popular with people – such as the recent debate over The Hunger Games. To me, The Hunger Games is "disturbing" not because of what we've witnessed, but because of what we have to put up with daily. "Disturbing" art can be as simple as the old saying "All images are disturbing." That's what I hope you take away from some of the examples below.
