The Story Of Art: Claude Monet's Poplars
Poplars was a series of paintings Claude Monet created during the summer of 1891. These trees lined the banks of the river Epte near Giverny, his home. By the beginning of 1892, Monet had completed thirty-two paintings all on square-shaped canvases. In March of 1892, fifteen of these paintings were put on display.
