The name of this art photograph is: 'Green Rain'

Can the rain be green? Nope, unless poisoned with who knows what... :D But, it surely can be green in a photograph! Is the rain that I photographed - green? No, but the image surely gives an impression that it almost might be! If not the rain itself, then the portrayed atmosphere.

The very saturated, vivid green grass comes very strong together with the overall greyish atmosphere that everything starts to appear greenish. The grass takes a lot of attention to itself, but the main element is undoubtedly still the reflection of the tree. If the green area was any larger than it is, it would completely overtake the image and diminish its value.

Follow the transformation from dark grey to white. It starts at the bottom and moves up toward the upper quarter of the image. It is no accident that I composed the tree reflection right there where it is. It needed to remain the subject.

The straight dark line divides the two main areas. But uneven lines and the drops, both created by the rain, partly smudge the image in a few places and quite straightforward destroy its sharpness. They almost completely take away the power of the sole straight line. That adds quite a gentle feel to this photograph.
