It is all about Perception

It is not often you see artwork like this everyday and I am used to seeing art on a wall, like in 2D form, but this takes one to another dimension, pun intended of course.

If you build it they will come

This year all the big name artists are flocking to Friesland, as it's Capital is the holder of the European City of Culture award, where big things are happening on the artistic side. I wrote a post a while ago about which artists are showcasing their amazing work in the link below, so let's go 3D with artist Leon Keer.

Leon Keer (Official website in the link above) had been commissioned to carry out a number of works, which are located in and around the city of Leeuwarden, Friesland. Leon's inspiration came from an old Leeuwardian artist named M.C.Escher, whose artwork is something one must see for themselves. I can see where maybe Leon drew his inspiration from, with Escher's focus on cubes and boxes in his own artwork. Every reader should go and see the work of this historic artist on his official website, provided in the link below.

In this lithograph, Escher uses two-dimensional images to depict objects free of the confines of the three-dimensional world.

A Lasting Impression

You can see from Leon's work that he has tapped into the imagination of passers by, as people play with their perception of the artwork, simply stunning and my hat goes off to you sir, mind blown.
