Here is my entry for Artstorm Contest #95—Birds. I drew this in Adobe Illustrator.
The Australian Lyre Bird is an amazing animal. It can imitate the sounds of at least twenty different species. Check out the video below by BBC Studios to hear some of the sounds. I'm particularly amazed by the imitation of the Kookaburra. It is a very complex sound and it's imitation is so convincing! And then, I laughed when it imitated a car alarm and a chainsaw! No kidding! What a smart animal.
It is named the Lyre Bird because its tail feathers resemble that of the instrument.

I would like to see that bird :)
They are notoriously hard to spot as they are very shy. They scurry about in the rainforest floor 🙂 I’ve heard them in real life but never seen one.
