Many individuals claim that museums should only focus on exhibits and artworks of the host country instead of exotic ones. While I accept that this idea is true to some extent, I would argue that works of art from overseas should also be paid attention to.

To begin with, there are several reasons why works of art of a country should be displayed in its museums or galleries. From economic point of view, with local exhibits being showcased in art galleries, these places are likely to draw the attention of visitors from abroad. As a result, there would be more employment opportunities for the locals, positively contributing to the growth of that country. Furthermore, museums could be a used as a tool to educate young people about the past. Since they could see real artifacts of thousands of years ago, history would seem more real to them. Apart from that, if students are curious about what they see in a museum, they might be encouraged to learn more about it in books or online.

However, I believe that foreign artworks should be displayed in art galleries or museums for some reasons. Firstly, since local people have been familiar with pieces of art of their own country, displaying those from abroad might attract more visitors to the museums. This would benefit the owners of these places, since visitors usually have to purchase tickets in order to enter the museums. Secondly, by observing masterpieces from many parts of the world, visitors could have opportunities to gain a wealth of knowledge and broaden their horizons about foreign cultures and their arts.

In conclusion, while I accept that art galleries and museums should exhibit works of their own country, I disagree with the idea that foreign works should not be displayed.
