I made this artwork a few months ago. At the time I was listening to a lot of J Cole, and really reconnected with his music. I had been a big fan of his early work, but started having my doubts when he started predominantly rapping about "Bitches". With his last couple of albums though, he has absolutely convinced me of his genius. He is among the best lyricists to have ever graced this planet, so I was compelled to make his portrait...

In this portrait I combine a photo of J.Cole with artworks by Jean-Michel Basquiat. My love for both artists and their similarity in raw power, made this artwork a natural marriage of Music and Art.

My wish to all of you this week: Do something outside of your comfort zone, don't let fear hold you back.
