OUTSKIRTS OF NECROPOLIS

If the Fomorii Stormtrooper
was not dark enough I am back with more from my monster/horror/scare-the-neighbors freak-show again, created the same year, 2012.
After all, I have to keep up my reputation!

NECROPOLIS:

A necropolis (pl. necropoleis) is a large, designed cemetery with elaborate tomb monuments. The name stems from the Ancient Greek νεκρόπολις nekropolis, literally meaning "city of the dead". The term usually implies a separate burial site at a distance from a city, as opposed to tombs within cities, which were common in various places and periods of history.

“Meanwhile, we have carved out a place for ourselves among the dead; the glittering pinnacles of commerce rise along the skyline, their foundations sunk in a charnel house; and the lost lie forgotten below us as, overhead, we persuade ourselves that we are immortal and carry on the business of life.”
Catharine Arnold, Necropolis: London and Its Dead

Now this are monsters I would say so. But beautiful drawing with enormous lots of details. You are really talented!

I did "Beksinski" before I even knew about him (basically, since I was in my early teens) - like with Giger, we draw inspiration from the same well. I maintain a Hall of Fame, and here is the page for Beksinski: https://www.vagallery.com/zdzislaw-beksinski.html - and here is Giger: https://www.vagallery.com/h-r-giger.html

wowowowowow otto ! i love this :D such a dreamy and wonderful composition, with mystical elements and incredible detailing * ___ *

you're really motivating me to try harder with the graphite as a tool <3

i love this ! wonderful post !!!

Thank you Spiderman, I myself need to get motivated doing more - been a bit preoccupied with other stuff lately. I shared a recent ink drawing by @gric, which reminded me to also work more with ink as well. Drawing is first and foremost the foundation for me. Stay tuned, I have a tendency to work in spurts. Feeling one coming on soon!

Excellent post my friend I really enjoyed that keep up the good work 👏😎

Not a problem my friend enjoy your day

Nevr seen this one; guh I love it; how you bring forward images from the dark recessis of the collective unconscious.

thank you Dania, you never seen this one because it is not on my website (yet), only on my print site on Pixels. I did exhibit it a couple of times locally in Vienna. If you check it on Flickr there are links to the albums from a coupe of shows. About "the collective unconscious": I don't even have to dig for it, it's breaking down my front door, lol - for every piece I do I have another 20 ideas competing for attention.

Monsters indeed! Or the trapped souls of the damned. I love it.

Do you like the service you are using to sell your images on phones and items? I use a few and do fairly well, but am working to move my things to my private site, still being built (taking too long as I am doing it myself)

I love your work and it really does translate well to this type of product. I think it's an amazing time for we artists. We can see our hard work sold over and over on things for people to take with them and enjoy every day! That's a powerful thing, I think.

Hi Donna: I do fairly well on this Pixels/FineArtAmerica site. Strangely the stuff that sells best are these horror images, lol. They also have excellent SEO, meaning your stuff shows up prominently on Google search. On Pixels, you can customize your artist website, like mine OTTO RAPP website I use other sites as well, but they are mostly a waste of time. FAA/Pixels pay you per paypal right away once the return period has past. I also got stuff on Zazzle, but not doing that well on there. I just sell enough on Zazzle to pay for printing my business cards there (using my accumulated earnings). If you have merchandise, you constantly have to flog it, and for that, I don't have the time.
As for your private site (unless you have a service already) I recommend either Weebly or Wix. I have most of the websites I control on Weebly.

Dear Artzonian, thanks for using the #ArtzOne hashtag. Your work is valuable to the @ArtzOne community. Quote of the week: Art, freedom and creativity will change society faster than politics. -Victor Pinchuk

thank you - it has become one of my favorite tags 😉

omg, the details are just so amazing, i love the care for the details, i can se you putted a lot of interest for them.

thank you - yes, I am obsessed with details. Most of my pieces come from a general idea, but are not plotted out - I rather let them grow as I go along; each detail suggesting the next step.
