Forecast for the New Moon in Libra
What we're all going through ...

Relationships are in for an overhaul in the next few months. Not only do we have Venus (who rules relationships and other things of value) retrograde in Scorpio (the sign of dissolution, recycling, reinvestment and improvement) but now we're dealing with the New Moon in Libra -- the sign of partnerships and alliances.

We are all seriously considering the value we get from our connections with others ... and making adjustments based on what we find when we get there. The connections themselves, of course, are a big Libra theme. The "adjustments" are part of Scorpio -- coming up next.

Venus is retrograde in Scorpio

But right now Venus, the ruler of Libra, is -- as noted -- retrograde in Scorpio. So this year, we're in for a heaping helping of both, intermixed.

Let's talk about the Libra themes first, since they're what's on deck. We'll get to Scorpio's renovations next month. I know theoretically Scorpio is all about improvement and refinements. But I can usually wait to talk about him -- and his methods.

Libra in general

Every year in Libra, Life focuses on relationships, joint efforts, projects that take teamwork and cooperation. You need to strike the right balance with partners to enlist their help doing things you want done!

People want to hear other viewpoints and opinions, make sure everyone's needs are considered and met, and see life from several perspectives.

In this phase of creation, you're looking for a mate, a partner or the right associates to help you cope with -- and enjoy -- whatever lies ahead.

If you already have a long-term relationship, you may solidify your commitment, renegotiate its terms, and redefine mutual goals. That's a good use for this time and energy.

A time of cooperation

Everyone is more cooperative, more willing to adjust, less self-serving ... more accommodating. You're finding the right balance between collaboration and independence.

Still, it's a good time to solve problems, speak candidly of what you want and need, and hear other people's ideas. Libra talks of "us" and "we" rather than "me" and "mine."

A time of alliance

If you don't have a partner now, or the right relationships, you're looking for them -- a lover, a spouse, an ally for some venture you have in mind, or just extra help getting through life. This energy also urges you to connect with "the public" or find agents or representatives to act on your behalf.

This is no time to "go it alone." You need professional and social allies, people to help you do what you can't do alone. Partners bring talent, resources, knowledge, connections and an extra pair of hands. You get back-up and support.

The fact that everyone is looking to connect will help you find your people. You'll have room to get on with your plans ... rather than spend every spare minute searching.

New Moon Issues

Personal focus ---> The quality and dynamics of your close relationships are up for serious review. The overall change in your life direction is impacting the kind of partnership you need -- and the kind of partner you can be.

Deciding how you and your associates can best meet one another's requirements in the future is due for some serious thought and conversation. But, of course, once you change anything in any life area other things elsewhere have to adjust.

Changes in your partnerships -- and how you behave with one another -- will open up different options in your public life / professional efforts.

Taking advantage of those will mean partners will have to change further -- or change differently. It's that two-way energy flow I keep mentioning. That hasn't changed even a little -- nor will it.

Pay special attention to issues ruled by your Taurus, Libra and Scorpio houses. The results of these course corrections will be most obvious there.

Mercury Issues

Ideas, communication, information, intellectual interests ---> With Mercury void-of-course, not much is happening here this month in terms of new information, new projects, new ideas, etc.

Mercury in Libra (right at the edge of changing signs in the Lunation chart) is interested in cooperation, accommodation, harmony, seeing life from "the other guy's viewpoint" and generally keeping life pleasant.

But Mercury in Scorpio -- where it's traveling now -- is involved with uncovering previously hidden information, admitting unpleasant truths and generally rearranging the way you see and work with your life from here on.

There may be a lot of inner work going on this month -- but not much in the way of news or startling revelations. Mostly you may admit some things you've previously tried to ignore, explain away, rationalize or interpret with a kinder or more convenient story.

Truths you've tried to avoid may refuse to remain buried. What you choose to do in response, of course, determines a lot of your path in the future.

Venus Issues

Relationships and resources ---> With Venus retrograde in Scorpio now, relationships are under a microscope -- especially when you consider (as you certainly will) whether your investment in these arrangements is getting you the return you expect.

Some of your connections may end between now and mid-December if you decide that what you're putting in and what you're getting back just doesn't work.

In other partnerships, you may come to new agreements -- or negotiate formal changes. This is all about improvement in how you and your partners support one another -- and every so often you need to either rebalance the scales ... or pack up and move on.

Other than that it is a very quiet month overall. Most of what happens either involves inner changes, new decisions, new focus and different perspectives -- but there's a sense that a lot of this has been hanging fire for a long time.

It's just reached the point where admitting the truth is easier (or required) than keeping up the sham and excuses. You may make some course corrections and wind up on a different trajectory by the time these next two lunar cycles end, but it won't be the actual landscape that changes so much. It will be you.

One extremely user-friendly chart site is here: AstroLabe. I recommend them if you want a simple, easy-to-read chart. I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.

Although sometimes the background pictures in our visual essays support the topic and text, they don't always. Sometimes the connection is clear. Sometimes it's symbolic and subtle. Sometimes, there's no connection at all.

The scenes depict landscapes and natural features, buildings and wildlife. They were chosen because they show something lovely or interesting ... or simply because the photo appealed to me.

Our spectacular and remarkable planet is changing at astonishing speed. Rarely are these changes for the better.
