The Lunation in Virgo 2018 -- understanding life's current trends -- Part 1

Right now, this minute, it feels a lot like last year at this time all over again. Talk about deja-vu! Once again ... has the Work Fairy dumped all you can handle squarely in your lap? Are you looking back and forth at the clock and calendar and wondering where on earth you're going to find a few hours to sleep?
I know the New Moon in Virgo always brings carloads of cr*p to do ... but this is plain ridiculous. If this sounds like your life ... I sympathize. If it doesn't ... don't tell me. Stop speaking to me altogether. It would sound too much like gloating.
One of the themes of the Virgo / Pisces polarity is trying to balance work vs. rest -- meeting all your million-and-more responsibilities and still finding time for self-care and healing. Last year, even trying to do that was a fool's errand. At least this year we have some help.

Virgo is not a fun energy. That's not just my usual dissing on the sign. It is an extremely necessary energy. And, my Lord, does it ever make Life run better. And the poor souls born under its yoke don't get nearly enough credit (or kisses) for the cheerless, thankless tasks they take on so the rest of us don't have to.
But there comes a time when everybody has to tote his own stuff ... and this is such a time. It is no accident Virgo's astute, discerning eye will oversee it all. (And the next time a Virgo does you a favor, pile on the appreciation. Think back to what this month was like ... and realize he -- or she -- is an angel in disguise. You do not want to have to live without them.)

When Virgo's turn comes up on the calendar, the theme is always "getting work done." And not just getting your ever-massive To-Do List whittled down.
By the time Virgo takes over, your schedule is likely piled high. The stacks are threatening to become an avalanche. You have more going on in your life than ten strong men could finish in a season. Every stick of it is plastered with your name, and business as usual isn't going to cut it.
To survive, you must pace yourself, schedule better, plan ahead, work smarter, pinch your pennies and leave no detail dangling. Oh, you bet, that sounds like a day at the circus to me!!

This year, we not only have to find ways to do more ... faster and cheaper, imagination is messing with our minds. Our patience is wearing thin (and so is our good humor), and Life just parked a caravan of extra chores in our driveway. The silver lining (yes, there is one) is that some of this will be fun. It will sure be educational.
I think it could still be fun without all the stress and pressure. However, Life disagrees. So, let's talk about what to expect ... and how to cope.
Here's what the Lunation in Virgo looks like.
you can skip this section and go on to the next part.
(As soon as I get it published.)
It's basically here to help keep me on track!
So ... here are the positive things about this Lunation chart.
- Mercury is out of retrograde and has moved into Virgo, making it congruent with the Lunation's theme.
- The Lunation in Virgo is sextile to Jupiter in Scorpio
- The Lunation in Virgo is trine to Pluto in Capricorn
- Mercury in Virgo is part of a Grand Earth Trine -- trine to Saturn in Capricorn; trine to Uranus in Taurus
- Venus in Scorpio is sextile to Saturn in Capricorn
- Jupiter in Scorpio in sextile to Pluto in Capricorn
- Jupiter in Scorpio is trine to Neptune in Pisces
- Saturn in Capricorn is trine to Uranus in Taurus
- Neptune in Pisces is sextile to Pluto in Capricorn, of course (It's been that way for decades now.)
Problems in this Lunation?
- The Lunation closely opposes Neptune -- but the opposition is mediated by both Jupiter and Pluto
- Venus opposes Uranus -- and both are square to Mars
Clearly this is a complicated chart. But there's a lot of good stuff here that has been in short supply for a while. And even the tough stuff is manageable, but you need to know it's around.
If you've always known there was more to Astrology than Sun Sign material and the three line daily horoscope in the newspaper, climb aboard and follow this blog. You'll find a world of wisdom detailing how you were designed to work with life ... and why you are the way you are -- all in quick-to-read, easy-to-digest-and-remember, written-in-plain-English essays that offer plenty of food for thought.
Little by little, I'm doing a set of articles that talks about all the elements in your horoscope and what they have to say about you. If you "know something" about Astrology -- or know something about your chart placements, that will help you get more from this material.
If you don't ... well, this is one place you can learn. We all have to start somewhere ... because we aren't born knowing this stuff. Meanwhile, if you've never seen your horoscope ... and don't have a clue how to work with it, maybe it's time to find out. There are lots of "chart services" on the internet -- some of whom produce decent, readable charts "for free" and some are so awful and confusing that even I can't read them easily -- and I've worked with charts for decades.
One extremely user-friendly chart site is here: AstroLabe. I recommend them if you want a simple, easy-to-read chart. I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.
Or, if you want to get serious and really talk about this, upvote this post and start a conversation in the comments section sometime in the next six days from the time of publication. We'll go from there depending on what you want to know.
Questions about any of this? -- Upvote this post and talk to me in comments. It's a terrific way to build value for yourself and the community ... and it will give me ideas of what to write about in future posts. Believe me there is lots to say about the way The Sun, The Moon -- and all the other elements in a horoscope, all the other components of Astrology -- work together to interpret you and your story -- and what it all means to the person you've become.
Although sometimes the background pictures in our visual essays support the topic and text, they don't always. Sometimes the connection is clear. Sometimes it's symbolic and subtle. Sometimes, there's no connection at all.
The scenes depict landscapes and natural features, buildings and wildlife. They were chosen because they show something lovely or interesting ... or simply because the photo appealed to me.
Our spectacular and remarkable planet is changing at astonishing speed. Rarely are these changes for the better. Few people seem to know ... or care ... or have the will and power to do anything about this. It may not be long before the world humans have known and lived in for centuries is forever lost. We certainly won't be able to make repairs as fast as we destroyed it.
So a few years ago I began collecting pictures of the way things were ... and still are for now, a record of the beauty we have while it is still ours to love and honor.
The photos here are part of that collection, with sincere thanks to the artists who saw these moments ... and with their cameras ... preserved them. All of us at Enchanted Spirit are profoundly grateful to them for their generosity and skill ... and for the added grace, depth and dimension their art brings to ours.
