There are changes coming -- in you.

The Sun in Taurus has recently formed a trine with Pluto in Capricorn. In plain English that means The Sun in the sky has formed an angle of 120° with Pluto's position -- way off at the outer edge of our solar system.

This forecasts some interesting changes in life on Earth, your life in particular ... and my life, too. Everyone's, in fact. So, let's talk about what this means, what to expect, what to look for and how to work with it.

Over the next several weeks, you will meet new opportunities, make decisions, adjust your perspectives and hit upon insights that will help change the course of your life. Knowing them when you see them helps a lot when it comes to living a more conscious life in the first place ... and managing it well. There will be several parts to this series -- because life itself is always "complicated." So let's get started.

The Sun -- finishing up in Taurus

The Sun will leave Taurus and move into Aquarius late next Sunday. It has been traveling through Taurus since April 19 -- so it's a little over three-quarters of the way through the sign. The attitudes and interests that accompany this Zodiac position for this planet have been in evidence for about three weeks.

We've all worked with this influence, consciously or otherwise -- and with the wisdom of hindsight it can be interesting to look back and notice how much it has recently colored our lives.

If you've been especially focused for the last couple of months on your income sources, spending habits, budget issues, asset management and major purchases -- this is part of the reason why. The Sun in Taurus brings these matters forward for attention, and since The Sun in Astrology represents your essential being, that focus can be pretty insistent.

A day or so ago, The Sun formed its last aspect in Taurus for the year -- a trine with Pluto in Capricorn. The Sun is now void-of-course until it leaves the sign. (There is a lot of material available about the void-of-course Moon. But I haven't found a lot about other planets in their void-of-course travels -- and I consider that a valid point of discussion . Maybe it's time I committed some of it to writing.)

So, let's talk about what The Sun means, what Pluto means, what Taurus and Capricorn mean, what happens when all these elements get together -- and work together, and what this pattern forecasts for your life.

What The Sun means

Your Sun energy is the central core of YOU. It wants respect. It wants adequate expression. It wants to show off its creative skills. It wants what you accomplish to be valued and important, because in achieving that, you feel valued and important.

Your Sun energy promotes your personal growth. It defines who you are and lets you express that to the world. It supports your development as a spiritual being. It works to insure that you succeed in your life's direction and purpose.

What Taurus means

Taurus energy is stable, grounded and persistent. It is dedicating to acquiring assets -- particularly those you need to physically survive ... food, water, shelter, all the necessities of life. In our society, those things normally require money, although sometimes you can conduct commerce with possessions or other resources ... and sometimes you can trade your labor directly for the things you want and need.

Somehow, though, there is an exchange of goods, services, skills and energy between you and the source of what you want and need. Taurus is first-and-foremost interested in doing or getting what it takes to survive.

Once those points are secure enough to be taken for granted, it broadens its interests to include things that are comfortable, things that are pleasant, things that are pretty or enjoyable, things that simply make life more worthwhile.

Taurus is, of course, primarily concerned with its own well-being and preservation, but it also sees a kind of "stewardship for all life" as one of its main responsibilities. It loves to see new life get started and grow -- and does all it can to support and nourish that cycle of creation from one season, one generation to the next.

What The Sun in Taurus means

The energy of The Sun in Taurus is quite a change from the pushy, impatient and always-assertive Sun in Aries. For some, that dynamic and edgy aggression is uncomfortable and exhausting. The Sun in Taurus invites you to "enjoy yourself a while" -- and by the time The Sun in Aries is done with you, that can sound like a capital idea!!

The Sun in Taurus has a reputation for being more than a little bit lazy. It likes to take life slow-and-easy and accomplish its work in the most expedient way. It also likes to get the most bang for its buck ... and the maximum results from the energy it spends. Some would say this is simply prudent and conservative -- exactly the kind of attitude everyone should have.

Taurus, however, does push the limits with his emphasis on "efficiency and conservation" ... and try the patience of others with his foot-dragging ways. Yes, he'll get the work done. But he's not going to be rushed. He doesn't respond well to pressure. He wants to do things in his own way and in his own time. Trying to hustle him along only makes him resist and push back -- and delays the very progress you want to achieve.

You need to accommodate Taurus -- not the other way around. And the sooner you realize this, the better you will all get along. So, this is the mindset you've been working with lately -- whether you knew it or not. Feeling pushed didn't make you move faster. It made you irritable, upset and defiant.

Yes, the work is important; you'll stipulate to that. But so is enjoying the journey. Taurus makes sure you don't forget to enjoy the scenery and food as you travel. Consider how dull life would be otherwise.

Thank you for stopping by!

If you've always known there was more to Astrology than Sun Sign material and the three line daily horoscope in the newspaper, climb aboard and follow this blog. You'll find a world of wisdom detailing how you were designed to work with life ... and why you are the way you are -- all in quick-to-read, easy-to-digest-and-remember, written-in-plain-English essays that offer plenty of food for thought.

Little by little, I'm doing a set of articles that talks about all the elements in your horoscope and what they have to say about you. If you "know something" about Astrology -- or know something about your chart placements, that will help you get more from this material.

If you don't ... well, this is one place you can learn. We all have to start somewhere ... because we aren't born knowing this stuff. Meanwhile, if you've never seen your horoscope ... and don't have a clue how to work with it, maybe it's time to find out. There are lots of "chart services" on the internet -- some of whom produce decent, readable charts "for free" and some are so awful and confusing that even I can't read them easily -- and I've worked with charts for decades.

One extremely user-friendly chart site is here: AstroLabe. I recommend them if you want a simple, easy-to-read chart. I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.

Or, if you want to get serious and really talk about this, upvote this post and start a conversation in the comments section sometime in the next six days from the time of publication. We'll go from there depending on what you want to know.

Questions about any of this? -- Upvote this post and talk to me in comments. It's a terrific way to build value for yourself and the community ... and it will give me ideas of what to write about in future posts. Believe me there is lots to say about the way The Sun, The Moon -- and all the other elements in a horoscope, all the other components of Astrology -- work together to interpret you and your story -- and what it all means to the person you've become.

This is who I am.

About the art in our visual essays ...

Although sometimes the background pictures in our visual essays support the topic and text, they don't always. Sometimes the connection is clear. Sometimes it's symbolic and subtle. Sometimes, there's no connection at all.

The scenes depict landscapes and natural features, buildings and wildlife. They were chosen because they show something lovely or interesting ... or simply because the photo appealed to me.

Our spectacular and remarkable planet is changing at astonishing speed. Rarely are these changes for the better. Few people seem to know ... or care ... or have the will and power to do anything about this. It may not be long before the world humans have known and lived in for centuries is forever lost. We certainly won't be able to make repairs as fast as we destroyed it.

So a few years ago I began collecting pictures of the way things were ... and still are for now, a record of the beauty we have while it is still ours to love and honor.

The photos here are part of that collection, with sincere thanks to the artists who saw these moments ... and with their cameras ... preserved them. All of us at Enchanted Spirit are profoundly grateful to them for their generosity and skill ... and for the added grace, depth and dimension their art brings to ours.
