Weathered • ASW Contest No. 24

This "old wood" is from a weathered post I photographed on the bay last summer. Ironically, it has since been torn down. It seemed fairly sturdy to me even with the large split down the center and the wood grain itself beginning to separate. In the first image of the corner, you can see the rings of the tree doing their own thing layer by layer. The sun and the sea have taken their toll, as well as a few major hurricanes, but it still had a great look.

I photographed the old wood with my Canon 5D camera and 70-200 mm lens.
