Autumn Adventures ๐Ÿ‚ ๐ŸŽƒ

Today is BEAUTIFUL!

Seattle is lucky to always have a few gorgeous autumn days. Today has been an absolute stunner. Blue skies, leaves changing colors and warm temperatures meant perfect conditions for adventuring!

We loaded up our pooches and headed for a pumpkin patch and corn maze.

image

But first we got lost.... ๐Ÿ˜‘

Well, not really lost, but Google Maps sent us 33 MILES past where we were supposed to go! The Facebook page of the patch had a โ€œclick hereโ€ for directions link. Which sent us to a lumber mill waaaaaaay past our stop. And I knew it was happening but wasnโ€™t more adamant to my โ€œdriverโ€ that we stop when we passed what I suspected was our destination.

Circle on the left was supposed to be our stop but we drove ALL THE WAY to the pinned spot on the right. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Thank goodness the drive was lovely.

Finally, we arrived at Biringers Black Crow Pumpkins and Corn Maze.

image
Spidy senses are tingling...

We chose this particular spot because it is dog friendly. Dogs are allowed into both the pumpkin patch and the corn maze at Biringer. As a result more dogs were here than kids.

Our pup Jasper having a good sniff of a cute little Yorkie.

Before hitting the maze and pumpkin patch we needed a snack. Biringer delivered. The farm has a small coffee stand offering drinks and autumn themed treats. We split a large cup of cinnamon sugar doughnuts.

Mmmmmm... pumpkin pie.

There was a small fee to go into the maze. However, we never found anyone collecting money. So our fee was very small. ๐Ÿคซ

And theyโ€™re off!

After completing the corn maze in record time (we actually just walked out the same path we walked in), it was time to head for the pumpkin patch.

Pumpkins as far as the eye can see.

The humble pumpkin is actually a fruit and NOT a vegetable. Itโ€™s closest relatives are the cucumber and watermelon. Pumpkins are native to North America and have been cultivated here for 5,000 years.

image
Hello pumpkin!

All pumpkins are edible, but the types used for carving generally have a low sugar content and thin stringy flesh. This makes them easy to carve but not as tasty as other pumpkin varieties. Pumpkins most suitable for jack-o-lanterns generally weight 8-40lbs from the vine.

Small shop selling Halloween decor and cider.

We wrapped up our visit by exploring the main entry area of the property. There was a tiny shop selling Halloween decor and a miniature kids maze made out of hay. There was also a โ€œgraveyardโ€ and some unique types of gourds for sale.

An all around fun day on the farm.

It was a great day for sure! That looks like a fun way to spend the day. We might have to go check that one out with the dog. Looks like your hubs missed a beat down of a game by the way!

Fortunately we got home for the second half. Are there halves in hockey? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ He saw the last bit. If we hadnโ€™t gone 60 miles out of the way he would have seen more! ๐Ÿ˜„ Poor dude.

Haha! Yeah, tell him it's alright at least his team won. My team lost today.

Whoโ€™s your team?

My team is the Minnesota Wild. But I also like and root for the Winnipeg Jets and the Canucks... when they're not playing the Wild.

We are going to the Canucks Bruins game Saturday. ๐Ÿ˜

Oh fun! Vancouver is a great city to visit. I'll be rooting for the Canucks, haha!

Hockey has 3 Periods of 20 Minutes each........................

Ha ha. I have been to games and didnโ€™t even remember. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Thank you!

I feel like some Pumpkin Pie with some Whip Cream right now....................

โ€˜โ€˜Tis the season! ๐ŸŽƒ ๐Ÿฅง

What a cool place, thanks for the tour. I hope you took some pumpkins home.

No pumpkins today. ๐Ÿ˜ญ But I might make some more soup before the season is done. โ˜บ๏ธ
