The 5 Best Trailers To Come Out Of The 2019 Superbowl

in #avengers-endgame5 years ago (edited)

The Superbowl is the biggest sporting event of the year. But in recent times, it's become about more than the sport itself. It's a time when studios release the most anticipated trailers, teasers or announcements of their biggest projects, and this year has been no exception.

So let's check out the 5 best trailers from the Superbowl 2019.

Avengers: Endgame Teaser

It's only a 42-second teaser, but after the first Teaser Trailer, every second of Endgame is anticipated by fans with bated breath. This teaser focuses on one element of the movie that we're all excited for; the team up of the remaining Avengers.

It all starts with Steve Rogers attending what looks like a grieving support group for people who have lost loved ones in the Snap from Avengers: Infinity War. That in and of itself is heartbreaking. The next sequence of images shows us all the remaining Avengers, seemingly getting ready... for something. The teaser ends with the shot of the silhouette of all the Avengers walking through the Avengers base. A shot that quite possibly has been 11 years in the making, especially given the remaining group.

Avengers: Endgame cannot get here any sooner!

Higher. Further. Faster!

The latest Captain Marvel footage from the Superbowl is also enticing, despite its brief runtime. The trailer gives nothing away but creates a thematic connection between the tagline of the movie, and the events of the story itself. "Higher. Further. Faster." It seems like this statement will have some sort of significance in the movie. A theme or overcoming obstacles, standing up for oneself and fighting for a greater cause.

All these promotional material is further creating more hype for a movie that, in my opinion, has already been sold multiple times over with fans and general audiences alike.

New Toys Meet Old Toys

Disney's domination over Superbowl Sunday continues with another small featurette from Toy Story 4. So far, the entire marketing for Toy Story 4 has been these very small features that cannot even be called complete trailers. We know nothing of the story, but instead are getting these funny scenes between new and old characters.

This one features scenes between Tim Allen's Buzz and the new characters voiced by Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele, as they meet and have some fun with a classic Toy Story character, in an uncomfortable situation.

So Much More Of Us

Jordan Peele's newest movie releases another teaser that is so much more creepy than the first trailer we got. (Check Out: why-you-should-be-excited-and-terrified-for-jordan-peeles-new-movie-us) With even more scenes and instances of creepiness that raise the bar that much more for Peele's follow up to his intense debut film, Get Out. The new teaser offers more scenes that we haven't seen before and gives us more of the story.

The Twilight Zone

Speaking of Jordan Peele, while he's following up his big Oscar-winning debut, he's also involved in the reboot of the classic fantasy TV show, The Twilight Zone. Peele is hosting the new show, which debuted a teaser on Superbowl Sunday.

It's great to see the original haunting music in the new version, and it's interesting to see what the new version will have in store for us, especially seeing how we have already gotten a modern-day Twilight Zone, with Black Mirror.
