One Full Year on Steem!

I wouldn’t have known about my Steem birthday if it wasn’t for @steemitboard, so thanks for the notification guys :)

It’s been a good year here. I joined in the $4 days, and plan to be around long enough to see those days come again. However, this community has still been determined to solve problems and connect people today, despite the low price.

The way I use Steem has drastically changed since I started here, due to all the new applications built on the blockchain. In the beginning it was only really possible to post my writing and music, but many additional activities are available now. I’m still really impressed with SteemMonsters, I believe that @aggroed and @yabapmatt have created a truly special blockchain TCG with tons of potential value for investors and players. There are also a ton of new gambling apps, such as Magic Dice and MoonSteem. I’m not much of a gambler, but I know that these sort of games are quite popular on other blockchains, and it has been cool to see some sprout up here (and apparently, be quite popular!). There have been too many developments here in the past year to name, from UIs, to stats sites, to the Steem-Engine sidechain token creation platform, and much more. It is exciting to see so many talented Steemians developing new stuff for the benefit of the chain. The future looks bright, as far as I’m concerned.

The Steemit Open Mic has been the largest contributor to my stake by far, and I would like to thank @pfunk, @luzcypher, @soundlegion, @krystle, @verbal-d, @passion-ground, and @meno for running this awesome contest and giving so much support to myself and so many other musicians.
