Today i'm gonna share to you on how to make this two recipe. Pandesal and Spanish bread. As you all know pandesal is a common bread roll in the Philippines. Filipino used to buy this every morning and cannot spend a day without eating it. It is perfect paired with coffee, milk or milo. It became a national bread of the filipino culture. While the spanish bread is also popular merienda here in our country. I don't know why is it called spanish but i think it has nothing to do with the Spanish bread of Spain except maybe that they share the same form (rolled) but the Filipino version of Spanish bread has a sweet buttery filling in it!

So without further ado let's start!

INGREDIENTS FOR PANDESAL:

  • 1 kilo first class flour

  • 2 cups water

  • 1/3 cup powdered milk

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp. Instant yeast

  • 3/4 cup white sugar

  • 1/3 cup lard/oil margarine

  • 1 pc egg

For the SPANISH BREAD

Increase sugar to 1 cup. Form small ball each 60 grams dough. Let it rest for 20 minutes. Flatten with rolling pin. Soared margarine-sugar then roll and seal tip. Roll in bread crumbs and arrange onto baking sheets. Let rise again for 30-40 minutes. Actually it's almost just the same procedure like we did to the pandesal the only difference is we put a margarine-sugar for it's filling.

It takes time to do it but it's worth the wait. You can try this at home. Very easy and simple to follow.
