Baan Kudichin Museum
In Thai 'Baan' means house / home
In Kudichin community, one of the most popular destination is for sure the one and only museum they have called 'Baan Kudichin Museum' the museum that happens to be in a house! It's not just a random house but it's a house that's been here for decades and used to be lived by some rich people in the past.
First thing you will see before entering is this big sign of this rooster at the entrance. I actually wasn't the one who's curious why but my friend.. then she got an answer from someone who was working there.. (or from a piece of paper on the wall that the person told her to go read from LOL)
Rooster is an unofficial animal symbol of Portugal
Now it makes a lot of sense as it's Portuguese-Thai community!
A rooster cafe!
No, not really the name but I would like to just make it a bit cuter and yes, the cup is something pretty rooster, you will see. The cafe pretty much offer all kinds of drinks and to be honest, not the best price you could find around the area THOUGH, do keep in mind that they open the museum for you to visit and learn without charging. That's pretty kind of them!
After chilling downstairs at the cafe for a long while as we needed it. It was hot out, like, really hot. We needed to cool down a bit before walk up to check out the museum they have upstairs. Unfortunately, we're not allowed take vidios though, they're kind enough to let us take photos so here we go!
The museum pretty much teaches us about all the history how this community has become a Portuguese-Thai community. All the business / trading and wars in the past. It was pretty interesting. Other than that, they have all the oldies / antique stuffs that really been used in the past by the owner of the house. I sooooooo love this kind of stuffs!
They even have all the bus tickets, medical card and all from England (Original ones) as they say the owner who used to live here was really detailed and kept all the stuffs he's gotten back home to Thailand after studying and living in England for a few years.
The museum was on the 2nd and 3rd floor and they also have the way going up to a rooftop which you can see the view of the whole community and even able to see the river from there.
Totally one of the place you should come check out when visiting Kudichin Community.
