Week 6 Power Rankings
New York Yankees 28-12: Yankees won 17 of 18, their best stretch since the 60’s to reach #1.
Boston Red Sox 28-12: Lost 2 of 3 to the Yankees to drop them into a share of first with the Yankees.
Houston Astros 26-16: Verlander is have a renaissance year with a 1.21 ERA in 9 starts.
Arizona D-Backs 24-16: Diamondbacks have hit their first skid of the season. How will they react to it?
Los Angeles Angels 24-16: Surprise, surprise, Mike Trout leads the lead in WAR and it’s not even close. At least they are winning for him now.
Atlanta Braves 24-15: The Braves seem to have the perfect mix of youth and veterans.
St. Louis Cardinals 22-16: Miles Mikolas has picked up his game with 5 wins and a 2.51 ERA.
Philadelphia Phillies 23-16: Phillies are 7-14 against their own division and 15-2 against everyone else.
Washington Nationals 24-18: Harper is single handedly putting the team back into the thick of the NL East race.
Milwaukee Brewers 24-17: Staff ace Chase Anderson was sent to the DL this week. Brew Crew can’t afford a lengthy absence.
Pittsburgh Pirates 23-17: After getting swept by the Nats, the Buccos have won 6 of 7 to share the division.
Chicago Cubs 21-16: Javier Baez is performing at MVP-esque levels right now.
Colorado Rockies 22-19: Nolan Arenado is putting up his typical MVP type numbers. He’s probably the unquestioned best 3rdbaseman now that Manny Machado moved to short.
New York Mets 19-18: With the distractions out of the way, Mets hope to get back to winning.
Seattle Mariners 22-17: Cano’s fractured hand will throw a wrench in the M’s plan to contend.
Cleveland Indians 20-19: The Indians are still struggling to make headway in the AL Central. Luckily the rest of the division is pitiful.
Toronto Blue Jays 21-20: Josh Donaldson is having an abysmal walk year. Could actually benefit the Jays if they plan to try and resign him.
San Francisco Giants 20-21: They haven’t gotten a win since Cueto went back on the DL.
Minnesota Twins 17-19: after a 2-12 stretch, the Twins have gone 8-2 since. A seriously streaky team.
Oakland Athletics 19-21: After the A’s rose above .500, they had to bad fortune to run into the Yankees and Astros.
Tampa Bay Rays 16-22: The four-man rotation might not be working.
Los Angeles Dodgers 16-24: The Dodgers might want to make a move sooner rather than later if they hope to stay in it.
Detroit Tigers 17-22: Tigers are 4-5 in Miggy’s absence. Better than I expected.
Texas Rangers 16-26: Hamels looed like his old self this week as he outdueled Justin Verlander 1-0.
San Diego Padres 16-26: Long time Padre Chase Headley was released this week.
Baltimore Orioles 13-28: O’s have won 5 of 7 and scored the most runs while hitting the most home runs since Jonathan Schoop came off the DL.
Miami Marlins 14-26: 1-6 in their last 7. Life is hard without any stars.
Cincinnati Reds 14-27: The Reds have won 6 straight!
Kansas City Royals 13-27: The Royals put a historical hurting on Bundy and the O’s in route to a 15-7 win. A nice victory for a team struggling to score runs.
Chicago White Sox 10-27: The White Sox week 0 for the week. Yikes.
