Beautiful Sunday, Sublimely So!

in #beautifulsunday6 years ago (edited)

It started out as a #beautifulsunday from the moment I opened my eyes. Truly sublime. The sun was shining wrapping me up in the warming rays of life. I was riding through the backroads of Pennsylvania, my friend and I and the day had promise built into it. The landscape is rural and there is a peaceful feeling all around me.

So many pockets of pretty!

Today is #beautifulsunday by @ace108 and #sublimesunday by @c0ff33a

Years ago, I dreamed of a life like this. A house and a barn with perhaps a cow or three and a few chickens for fresh eggs. The terraced landscape is exactly what I would have loved and I might have gotten a couple of ducklings for the pond.

I am sure there would have been a tire swing and tree fort somewhere on the property

Look closely at these woods. See the vertical running tubing strung through the trees? What do you think they are? Come on, give it a guess and I will tell you the answer at the end. @old-guy-photos cannot participate because I already shared this with him. Don't worry, he didn't get it.

Oh. the blue skies bring life into the landscape, does it not? How could one not be lifted to a higher place as you gaze into it?

Closer to home, the familiar sights coming into view signal the end of my day with you. It's been nice, this ride through the backroads of Pennsylvania. Like so many towns in Northern Virginia, you get a warm feeling walking through their towns. I am surrounded by towns like this and I love it.

My personal world is changing, right before my very eyes

Just as the sun starts to go down, leaving a shadow over the cemetery, I look at all the love left with flowers and tributes and know that sometimes I go to the cemetery with nothing but what's in my heart. And that is okay with me. Still, these are lovely gestures.

There must always be a flower. Always.

And the plastic tubing? Running Maple Sugar! Who knew!!

Wonderful photographs as always @dswigle. Thanks for taking us into your sublime Sunday with you.

The next time you are in the vicinity, would it be possible to show us what the maple syrup looks like where it is collected. Curious minds would like to know! 😁

Was it on private property or is it a business?

Have a wonderful Monday. 😍

Noo! I would be happy to! I had never seen it collected this way, but, this way they can bleed the tree all year. The other way, you have to watch as the amber fluid is collected in a bucket. That is what I am used to. This way looks messier, but, I will bet it is more efficient. As an aside, I did follow the trail to where it was collected and couldn't get a good shot of it, but, Im not shy and I would bang on a door for a picture. ;)

Im not shy and I would bang on a door for a picture

Ha, ha, ha. Love it @dswigle. Wish I could say the same. 😁

Take a deep breath, close your eyes and bang on the door! :) They will say yes every time.

I think I need a bit of one on one tuition Denise. You must be due a trip to Europe soon! 😂

I smiled when I read that again today.

Excellent @dswigle. Have you booked your tickets yet? 😂

Yes!! I definitely think I am!

hmm... why would you want an odd number of cows? one or three.

I don't know. Good question.

Great Sunday morning Indeed, the sky are shining like the sun,the place is so great to have an early exercise wish those fresh air around..

I realy don't know what is thebreal purpose of that tubing it's diffecult to guess..😂😂

It was a beautiful Sunday and the weather was perfect! There was enough fresh air for everyone! :)

The tubing I gave the answer at the bottom. It where they collect the maple sugar from the tree! I have never seen it done that way, so I found it interesting!

Hello, Bien!

maple produces sugar?wow...thats was a nice work..

Maples produce sugar. yes! :) It needs to be processed after it is collected.

Sure looks like such a beautiful day ,I would never have guessed what those tubes before I have never seen anything like that

I haven't either and I was raised with Maple Syrup!! :)

Dont hate me but I think I have only ever tried Maple Syrup once, on Pancakes it was real nice but I am not such a big fan of pancakes

I do like maple syrup but I prefer to have waffles. I'm not much of a pancake fan. LOL.

I am not even sure I have ever tried a waffle

OMG JJ! Don't say that out loud! LOL

I actually whispered it :

Thank God. Otherwise, it is downright blasphemous.

You always manage to post such lovely photos with great description! I love all the photos here, especially the brick building photo with the flowers! Well done lovely lady 😊😍😘

Thank you so much, Erika! That brick building is the part of downtown close to my house. It is a pretty little section with older buildings (they call it old town) but they are all renovated to look new.

I like the way they hang the flowers almost all year round.

ah, maple sugar! That is better than my guess of a zipline for leprechauns... joy.png
Love the photos and the flowers! 💛

Noooo ziplining leprechauns are so much more interesting! :) I had never seen maple sugar done that way! Thank you! You know I love flowers of all kinds!

Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoyed your photos.

Maple Sugar line ! I would have never guessed that, because I never heard of or saw anything like it before. I might have had to poke a little hole and took a sip. LOL !!

I had never seen it done that way either! So, I was clueless. I am used to the spicket and the bucket. If I didn't think I'd get nailed with a load of buckshot, I might have taken a sip or two.
