A day when all the mothers of the world are honored. A special day to honor mothers, wives, grandmothers who brought life to this world. Let me share with you today a simple yet genuine window to our celebration.

Taken by my daughter @bearkid and saved for this special day. With my wife @mhel we do not have much photos together lately as I noticed that I have been too pre occupied taking photos for my content. I asked my daughter to take some photos of us together and have a little fun.

The Celebration

What is a celebration without food so we went to a local fast food chain. I would have taken her to a classy restaurant preferably on the roof deck, dining underneath the stars. Well I was hoping that Steem would have rocketed already by now but unfortunately it didn't. Would have loved to have taken her out to a place more special like the dinner date we had last Valentine's day A Night of Romance Powered by Steem. Somehow I feel so bad that I could not give something more. Life is hard and budget is tight but still you need to make the most out of it and smile to everything that is beautiful in this world. Like this beautiful holiday today.

The place was packed as a lot were also celebrating in this fast food restaurant. It would take us forever so we decided just to look for another place to buy food.

On our way there were a lot of flower vendors on the streets. Flowers are a great symbol to give to our mothers in this special holiday. A lot of people were buying flowers to give to their wives and mothers. It felt like Valentine's day again without the heart shaped boxes and chocolates.

We bought some flowers to add to our celebration. My wife loved the purple ones don't know the name of it but it does look beautiful. I couldn't help to take a closer shot.

There were also those that are pre arranged. Roses that were sold per piece was wrapped in clear plastic which attracts those on a tight budget. As for us we got the purple ones and some yellow flowers too.

We also wanted to have some cake to add to our menu. But failed to realize that a lot of people would also want cake today.

Here is what we did not expect. A very long line and more people still lining up to add to the queue. We lined up with the rest of the customers and after 10 minutes we noticed that the line was not moving. I peeked inside and saw more people waiting for their turn. We realized that it was not worth the wait and just decided to give up on the cake.

We ended up in a small restaurant popular for their fried chicken and pancit (noodles). As you could see a lot of orders was ready for pickup. No much people yet at this time but later on all tables will be occupied. I even overheard a customer arguing with the manager. The customer wanted to have the place reserved in the afternoon but the owner does not do reservations today as there would be a lot of walk in customers.

We finally got back home and here is our Mother's Day lunch celebration.

The popular fried chicken which cost us 260 pesos or around $5.00 which is not bad.

Next we have the Pancit Canton noodles with vegetables, pieces of chicken and liver. It is always best to have the pancit canton with sauce as some variants does not have sauce. The noodles cost us 140 pesos which is almost $3.00 which is fair enough.

A simple celebration and a meal shared with the family. It may not be in a fancy restaurant or an exotic place but the most important part is being together and keeping the love alive, no matter what your situation is. Learning how to smile even though things does not go your way most of the time. A mother and a wife who also struggles each day preparing our meals, home duties and still have some much love for us at the end of each day.
