Today’s beauty tip is making a DIY mask using aloe-vera! The first DIY mask only has two ingredients that are needed and should be used by people who have dry and acne prone skin and the second DIY mask has three ingredients for people with oily skin.

Aloe vera gel keeps the skin hydrated and firm due to the fact that it contains vitamin C and E and beta carotene. In addition to this, it contains antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties to assist in reducing skin inflammation and antioxidant properties. This plant also helps remove dead skin cells and stimulates the growth of new cells and giving you amazing healthy skin. People also find this plant to be very moisturizing to the skin. Although aloe vera gel is amazing for different types of skin and specifically helping to reduce acne, you should be aware that it only works for mild acne.

Acne is a skin condition that affects a lot of teenagers and young adults world wide and can be very stressful and frustrating to deal with. It is said that it's caused by bacteria and excess oil. What happens is that your hair follicles become clogged up with dead skin cells, bacteria and oil, which then creates a pimple.  Here are two DIY facial masks to help get rid of that problem!

What you'll need:

  • 3 tablespoons of aloe vera gel
  • 1/4 a teaspoon of lemon juice
  •  a bowl
  • a spoon

What to do:

  • Mix these two ingredients in a bowl
  • Leave on your face for 15- 20 minutes
  • Rinse off and apply a moisturizer suitable for your skin type.

Now for the second mask! This next one is actually a scrub to remove all the dead skin and stimulate gorgeous healthy looking skin!

What you'll need:

  • 1/3 cup of coconut oil
  • 1/3 cup of white sugar
  • 1/3 cup of aloe vera gel

What to do:

  • Mix all three ingredients in a bowl
  • Make sure that your face is clean
  • Apply the mask on your face
  • Leave on for 15 minutes
  • Rinse off and apply a moisturizer for your skin type

For those with dry skin like myself, this next mask is for you! This mask will moisturize your dry sensitive skin and also prevent pimples!

What you'll need:

  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of  aloe vera gel

What to do:

  • Mix these three ingredients in a bowl
  • Leave on your face for 15- 20 minutes
  • Rinse off and apply a moisturizer suitable for your skin type

Last but not least is a mask for those that have oily skin.

What you'll need:

  • 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel
  • 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice

What to do:

  • Mix these three ingredients in a bowl
  • Leave on your face for 15- 20 minutes
  • Rinse off and apply a moisturizer suitable for your skin type

The yogurt will exfoliate your face while the lemon juice will remove excessive oil in your skin.

I hope you find these masks useful!
