Anheuser-Busch chasing online beer sales as grocery e-commerce picks up steam

in #beer5 years ago

Online sales spent the last two decades on an upward trajectory. The online grocery world is late to the game but they are now getting involved.

This is leaving a company like InBev (owner of Anheuser-Busch) on the outside looking in. As grovery goes e-commerce, beer companies are looking to partake also.

The challenge they have is the beer and other alcohol laws were formed after Prohibition. They are not designed to deal with the technological world we are in today.

Most major grocers are moving toward a delivery platform. Kroger and Wal-Mart and working to add this to their stores in 2019.

To keep pace, the beer companies need to adapt. Regulators might be seeing the light too.

Online beer sales would be clutch. Can't imagine shipping is cheap tho.
