Rotating Hop Series
TiHKAL by Ascension Brewing. This beer is a rotating hop IPA series. It’s a cool idea because they have decided to change the hops on each run. This is makes it so this beer is never the same and customers will keep buying to see how they taste changes. This is marketing genius!
Brewed with oats, wheat, and honey malt this beer is much more than just the rotating hop. The nose is floral and hoppy. Light citrus and slightly yeasty. It’s not the best aroma, but it’s not as bad as some of the reviews I’ve seen...
The flavor is delicious. It’s hoppy, bitter and loaded with citrus. I’m picking up grapefruits and orange for the citrus flavors. The bitterness comes from the pine resin flavors. It’s thick like a syrup and there is a mild amount of carbonation that added to the mouthfeel.
Its a solid drinking experience. My favorite part of this beer is the color and can art. Ascension has been putting out some of the most beautiful cans I’ve seen. This one has a very astronomical feel which enjoy.
I have three more of these beer left and I think that letting them age might make the flavor and aroma better. This is not usually the case when you age an IPA. This is because the flavors tend to dull, but I feel like this is what this one needs.

We enjoy all of the beers in Stone's Hop Revolver series. There was one exception, though. The Hercules hop version was disgusting. Even the people we talked to at the brewery agreed it was dreadful.
