Yes, finally I got a Westvleteren
This beer is not easy to get and as I saw it on the beer menue during the Steemit Meetup Rotterdam it was clear to me that I have to give it a try.
Sure, every Steemian got a chance to sip on that beer.
The brewery Westvleteren
They make 3 top beer and the Westvleteren 12 is their best.
Westvleteren is a brewery founded in 1838 at the Trappist Abbey of Saint Sixtus in Vleteren, Belgium.
The brewery's three beers have acquired an international reputation for taste and quality, Westvleteren 12 being considered by some to be the best beer in the world. The beers are not brewed to normal commercial demands but are sold in small quantities weekly from the doors of the monastery itself to individual buyers on an advance-order basis.
This is the reason why it is not so easy to get.
The Taste
There is so much in this beer and it is really not easy to tell everything from the first few sips.
The flavor is very balanced and I tasted fruits, sweets and overall a warm and gentle taste.

Very full, creamy smooth and round-bodied aroma, average to good carbonation. Tart dark fruit, raisins, caramel sweetness, warming alcohol, tobacco and leather. Very lush and sincere beer, good malt flavor.
Balanced taste, exceptionally complex with an aftertaste that lasts and ends with a dry finish. A taste and experience that is as individual as the person drinking it.

The Westvleteren “Trappist” is sold exclusively at the abbey store, and only after having made a reservation by telephone (+32 (0)70/21.00.45).
How does one reserve beer?
See our web page ‘beer sales’ for information regarding when reservations will be accepted for which beer and how much beer can be reserved at any one time.
At the time indicated, call us using the beer phone number (+32 (0)70/21.00.45).
Then you can make an appointment (date and time) with the beer phone operator, providing the license plate number of the car which will be used to pick up the order.

A plan is born
We where a bunch of Steemians at this meetup in Rotterdam
Some of us started the plan to go to the brewery and get ourselves a few cradle of that beer. The idea is driven by @buzzbeergeek and @detlev

I have a few at home, and if you go to the abbey yourself you have to go through an extensive process and you can get 1 crate :') If you do this it's worth it, because the beers are normal price (the abbey doesn't make profits from making these beers). But if you buy them in a store or bar they're 6-10 times as expensive because everyone who can sell them had to go through that whole process... :D
We will try to get 2 or 3 cradle whenever we get the chance to go there.

That was damn expensive in that beer bar or let say it that way, close to half a cradle.
If we get some beer there, I can try to send one or two to down under.
Would LOVE to try this, Detlev. When I make a million bucks off my next book and travel the world as I please, I'll pass through Belgium and let you introduce me to this!
