Wow, since 2 years I maintain the #BeerSaturday - Celebrating with Rochefort 8
A celebration of beer
It has to be something special to celebrate my 2 years of work, fun and so many lessons learned.
So, we made a stop on one of our journeys and I made us to visit the monks of the brewery in Rochefort where they create three of the TOP beers with 100% voting on so many beer portals.
A nice old brewery
Sadly where stopped on a Sunday afternoon and the whole place looks empty and there where only a few cars in all that parking lots.
We looked around but all the doors are locked and there is nobody to see at the huge area.

Nice looking and well build for the monks and the beer.
But as well here we don’t see any human around.
The belltower
Hmmm, with all this nice bells there might be all the monks in the church doing their monk thing.
But, I can’t go away without some of their brew work.
Another old building
We walked a more around at the area and some steps away we saw another old building. Sure we decided to have a closer look at this one.

We had a look around at the last building and there was this little sign that says:
For beer ring the bell.
This was a bit hidden but we found it.
We met a few monks walking around there and a friendly guy showed us some beer they sell.
This was the most different shop I ever saw. A room wich could be a normal living room with a fireplace.
At the mentelshelf we saw a six pack of the three different beers they produce. This had two bottles of the Trappistes Rochefort 6 and two Trappistes Rochefort 8 and logical as well two of Trappistes Rochefort 10. Sure that I had to take this home.
The special 2 years #BeerSaturday beer
On that top of the fireplace they show as well a special edition in a special wodden box with three 0.75 liter bottles and a rope where **a Rochefort bottle opener **is integrated.
Yes! I need exactly something like this.
As I never saw this bottles at any shop, it must be a bit special. So - just perfect.

What is better to open a beer from Rochefort with a bottle opener from the same brewery?
Yes, a glass from the same brewery. But the three big bottles hat eaten my budget already.

Time to celebrate. I had a look outside and the world crying
Enjoy life and party with good food and a wonderful beer 🍺

A bottle of the jummy Trappist Rochefort 8 fits perfect into two big beer glass.
This is the middle one of the three different beers they make and it comes 9.2% of alcohol, so you just better have only one or two of them.
The taste is a mix of so many Aromas
There is a light caramel taste, some taste of roasted malt and a bit nutty taste. The beer has a long lasting head and a hazelnut brown color. All this comes very balanced and taste best around 13 degree of temperature. Means not to cold.
As you see from RateBeer this belongs to the 50 worldwide beers with a clear 100/100 points.
BBQ belongs to a good beer
A huge steak for the family after a day of work in the
Garden and the house is a fair “payment” for all the running around.

ja, da habe ich auf den letzten Metern in Rochefort echt Glück gehabt. Wir sassen nämlich schon im Auto als wir sahen das die anderen "verwirrten" Besucher auf einmal in dem Haus verschwunden sind.

And that sounds like quite a fun excursion looking for beer. A neat place to visit, and it even has beer at the end, like a prize.
Yes, it was like a special price and that beer taste quite special but very leveraged with all the different parts
